Introduction College
Sri Dharmasthala Manjunatheshwara (SDM) College of Ayurveda and Hospital, Hassan is a private Ayurveda college on the Bengaluru–Mangaluru highway. It offers BAMS, MD/MS (Ayurveda) and PhD programmes.
History College
The college was established in 1992 by the SDM Educational Society, which also runs the older SDM Ayurveda college in Udupi. It is affiliated to RGUHS and is known for its postgraduate and research activity.

BAMS program Standard
The college offers the Bachelor of Ayurvedic Medicine and Surgery (BAMS) under the NCISM curriculum, with the degree awarded by Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences. Course duration Standard

Hassan's surroundings, between the plains and the Western Ghats, support field visits for medicinal plant study. Most colleges also hold annual sports and cultural events, Dhanvantari Jayanti (National Ayurveda Day) programmes, health camps and NSS activities.

Students attend clinical postings in the hospital's OPD, IPD, Panchakarma, surgery and maternity units during the later professional years, then complete the one-year internship, including community health postings.
